Northland College Hulings Rice Food CenterOur new Hulings Rice Food Center (HRFC), which combines a certified kitchen, composting, and demonstration gardens is a great example of this. The facility allows Northland to receive large shipments of local fruits and vegetables; freeze, dry, and can these products; and store them for off-season use. The Center also holds our enormous food composting equipment.

New Day ShelterThe New Day Advocacy Center is a safe haven for victims of Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault. We are a non-profit organization, which provides emergency housing and food to victims and their children. Beyond performing crisis intervention and support services. New Day Advocacy Center is an important grassroots effort toward affecting the social change that is necessary to prevent and ultimately reduce family violence and sexual assault in the communities that we serve.

The BrickThe BRICK Ministries is a partnered effort between its member churches, businesses, and residents who share the mission and vision of compassionately helping people in need, serving residents of Ashland and Bayfield Counties. The BRICK offers a Food Shelf Program that distributes food and personal care items at four locations: Ashland, Cable, Cornucopia, and Mellen. The BRICK’s Benevolence Program assists with emergency financial resources and provides referrals.
